When you’re a jet you’re a Jet all the way
From you’re fist cigarette to you last dyin’ day.

-- Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story

Garry Winograd said if you are a real photographer, you can’t not be making photographs, all the time, everyday. If you’re a photographer, you’re a photographer all the way. He lived and practiced that idea; I love and aspire to that ideal, in theory if not always in practice.

I like walking around making photos of things I find interesting. I frame combinations of light and subject with a unique viewpoint, make an image, put four edges around it, and call it mine. The subject is irrelevant – I’m after the photo. Photography is not about the thing photographed; it is about how that thing looks photographed.

I live and work in Silicon Valley.
